UPDATE ON THE TRANS PACIFIC PARTNERSHIP TRADE AGREEMENT-PASSED/THE AFGHANISTAN ISSUE

A CAUTIOUSLY PLEASED NATION

OBAMA GOT THE JOB DONE

President Obama at the United Nations

By: C. Harrison/October 18, 2015/

The Trans Pacific Partnership Trade Agreement, put forth by several countries along with the United States, passed its hurdles last week according to President Obama. The agreement helped to forged forward with the nations business of putting people (the American workers first) and back to work.

This sealed degree will help  middle class families get ahead and level the playing field for farmers, ranchers, and manufacturing jobs. According to the Obama Administration, the agreement was reached a week ago with 11 other countries. The President said, “This is good news for the global economy.”

Many legislatures fought against this Trade Agreement and vowed that they will not vote for it to see the light of day. The Bill, still have to go through Congress. My take on the measure wake up your local legislatures-regarding this issue.

Incidentally,  the Afghanistan issue of Soldiers coming home early is up in harms again—this, after five years of fighting & conflicts via numerous wars, in the region of the Middle East.  We have now learned that the security situation is still fragile and tentative, thus the President announced that (he would not be the one to end this war),  which, we all know that this is not what the President wanted. He came to office looking to bring home, most of the soldiers from this war torn Country. The ladder was one of the to do things, he had promised to do before leaving office.

Do you get the feeling that someone or some entity played God, so has not to stop the on-going war in that region. Wars not only breeds money, but it also allows for getting rid of stock piles, launder things under-ground and play dirty tricks. Someone always stands to gain in and outside of any war torn country. In this sense, it would make someone or something very happy to keep wars un-top of wars going.

Look and ye shall find.

THE FIRST DEMOCRATIC DEBATE EXCELLENCE

DEFINITIVE!  RENAISSANCE!

1444883693936

Hillary at the first  Democratic debates via CNN

By: C. Harrison/October 18, 2015/8:00PM

The Democratic Debate brought back the vigor and hallmark of what the debates are all about. It defined what the debates should be focusing on and what we as a country should be asking of candidates who are seeking higher offices, especially the Oval Office; the highest office in the nation. The Dems debate also reverse the rhetoric spoken by all the Republicans on their podium at their debate. The Dems had a record 15 Million viewers, this is saying a lot. Yes,  Dems have this debate thing locked.

1444883006462 Democrats are again in Democratic heaven. The mercury waters are now clear again-see, see.

This debate has lased and licenses the nation with true arguments on the issues and allow candidates to own up and stand up for what platform they plan to run on. It gave us a glimpse of where these candidates have weak spots and a head start on who we can literally focus on to become President.

As for Hillary’s email, I believe it was an oversight on the part of the administration-not anyone’s fault. No Secretary before her probably had to go through the stagger of using two or three email accounts or even thought of it. The fact that the Republicans waste our time and tax payers money which we now know to the tune of 4 1/2 Million dollars is outrageous, and unbelievable. Not to mention, still on the hunt to drag Mrs. Clinton in court is  unprecedented and unwarranted.

The (Government), via the nation should bring up the Republicans on charges in court for spending 4 1/2 Million dollars on someone’s email account, especially if those email doesn’t heel any threat to our national security. That money could have help in the fight of keeping our Government from shutting down or the threat of shutting down; frankly we needed that money.  As Barney Sanders pointed out, “Enough with the dam emails, already.” Hillary’s email should not define the Democratic Party’s values or Hillary’s legacy as a Press Secretary.

Moreover,  they should find and point out who those 40 Republicans that are holding the Country hostage, basically. These 40 Republican have been terrorizing and disrupting the nations work; this is bad behavior by public officials who are being paid by the Government–we the people. These 40  need to be rooted out.

Yes, the Dems win the debate factor hands down.  Now, there are clearly four persons of interest to claimer to on the road to the Presidency.  Carson, Trump, Sanders and Clinton and possibly Biden–these are our players, choose one.

THE AWARDS AFTER PARTY

REGGAE’S BIG NIGHT CONTINUES

@

THE GARDEN  FORT LAUDERDALE

By: C. Harrison/October 15, 2015/5:33pm

There is a saying when an artist is good (YOU CAN’T TOUCH HIM).  So, we head for the After Party, my small crew consist of 5 of us —Ed Robinson, Michelle Arthurton, Sandra Wilson, a friend who drove and myself C. Harrison. We got there and of course the Party was in full swing.

Plenty of Artist in the building a few later–Ed Robinson was acknowledge and thereafter took to the stage; of course he came through with his favorite song knocking on Heaven’s Door, usually a crowd pleaser–he got standing ovation. Soon after Gully Bop walked in and its as if on que everybody else was forgotten; cameras took over and everyone wanted a picture with him.  He commended attention, later he went on stage and it was all over.

He mash-up the place, to the delight of his fans and the crowded Club. His friend who he pared with on stage got his Hyde whooped by Bop. As I mentioned before in my article on the awards,  you had to be there. Also on hand was A.J. Brown and many other artists who gave the crowd a jolt for their money. These few highlights give some insights. There I want to thank

To Ed Robinson And Michelle Aethurton, I would like to thank them for their generosity– with out their help this article and seeing the Awards, would not have been possible. Nuff  Respect to both of them.

The international Reggae World Music Awards, is a  success story  on its own merits, since its inception. The 2015 Award Show was cozy and pinned. It had its moments but was made up for by the conscience’ audience who came to see their favorite artist win. Unstoppable they were to support the big night; yes, Fort Lauderdale showed up not so much in chunks but in a mosaic profusion.

The big winners and most talked about were: Etana with 3 awards for Best Female Vocalist and Best Song “I Rise.”  and the Marcus Garvey Humanitarian Award. Next up : Tarrus Riley with Best Male Vocalist and most Cultural/Educational Entertainer. Best Gospel Oriented Song-Carlene Davis “Dripping Blood.”  Best Album/CD- “Strictly The Best 50,” various artists. The Best Crossover Song- OMI with 2 awards  “Cheerleader” and “Most Promising Entertainer.” Best Music Video- “Rock Stone” Stephen Marley.  Best Instrumentalist- Dean Fraser (He is strictly the best) Best Caribbean Entertainer- Third World.  Best Concert of The Year – Rebel Salute. Recording Studio Producer of the Year – Shane Brown.

The Bob Marley Award went to Chronxx and was presented by Bob’s Grand son. Most consistant Entertainer – Yellow Man. Comedian of the Year –  Rohan Gunter. Best Male DJ/Rapper- Damarco. Best Female DJ/Rapper – Spice. Best New Entertainer – Dexta Daps—(Dexta I must put in, is quite the Years’ new catch, he is good). and A. J. Brown, now a member of Third World got an award for Outstanding Contribution to the Music Industry–he also accept the award on behalf of  Third World’s-Caribbean Entertainer of the year. And Ed Robinson who was inducted into the Reggae Hall of Fame. These are a few among a slue of nominees, for the complete list of winners go to: www.irawma.com

“The  show didn’t turned out to my liking,” according to Ephraim Martin Promoter & Producer of the Awards, Martin did not elaborate.

Moreover, others stated that while the show is prominent, they would like to see the Award Ceremony move up to a more prestigious level. Most noted that our community needs to support this annual award better than they are doing right now. Some further contends that “Its our own and we should do more, we cannot be looked at like this to the world.”

All the performers did very well but I have to point out that  Gully Bop, took the spot light. This veteran really is something to behold–he basically took over the show and gave people what they came to see him do, entertain.  With or with out music he could seriously give any entertainer a run for their money.

His mind set is sharp and he seems keenly intelligent—understanding what his craft is all about and knowing how and what to do with an audience. I surmise that if Gully Bop is picked up by a fair and genuine investor in him; no one would be able to touch him musically speaking.  Gully is in-sense  musically and gifted in tow.  Gully tour up (Mashed-up) The Garden Night Club, in Fort Lauderdale, at the awards after party. You had to be there.

Gully Bop is well respected in circles he know not of and inspite of what is going on about him—it is little known.  Also, off stage- he is very humble with great decorum’s about him and he is indeed a cosmopolitan. Many already wants to sue him but they should remember that he also gave to many inside the trenches over a decades to sphere.

Bop, I see you there already but,  only you and your manager can play your cards ingeniously to forge ahead.  This award show help Bop to sprout his wings further.  I promise you that he will soar higher for the coming future. Bop, continue to keep a leveled head and “Mind your mind for the jewel of your soul.”

Next year, the International Reggae World Music Awards will be celebrating its 35th Anniversary. I promise you that you have to get in on the support line from now -this up coming show will be talked about long after the curtain falls. There will also be ample amelioration (We heed your call to ascend to that higher level) to suit your enjoyment.

The influx of the 34th annual Reggae Award Show,  was wonderful. Photo credits: C. Harrison

SHELL ABORT A DISASTEROUS PLAN

A DISTESTABLE PLAN THAT WOULD HAVE DOOM OUR WILDLIFE RESERVE

1443491412267.jpg shell 1

By: C. Harrison/September 29, 2015.2:58AM

It was a plan that Shell was dancing with for years, to Drill inside Alaska. And they fought and bid and spend 7 billion for the rights to drill in an area they knew that they were ill equipped to handled. Instead of taking a hard look at their reckless plot of an idea, probably implemented out of somebody’s drunken head…they forged ahead with a worthless plan.

Believe me, Shell knew and did not tell the Government that they could not and did not have the materials for such an undertaking in such a treacherous mine-field as the middle of the Alaskan Ocean. Shell deceived us all but luckily Green Peace, was not fooled and neither were some of us.

I am glad that the President took the initiative in the long end make the trip to Alaska and saw first hand what would have happen to the mosaic scenery and people in those villages who depends on the rivers and sea for survival. Treachery is a vile thing to do to a nation and that 7 billion dollars could have helped to wipe out poverty all over the world. I applaud Shell for waking -up and kicking out their now former CEO.

Shell not only saved nature but hundreds of wile life and Villages. Today was a good day for humanity.  Nuff respect to Green Peace, great job.

THE POPE IN ALL HIS HEAVENLY GLORY HIS VISIT TO AMERICA

THE POPE

WASHINGTON AND NEW YORK

By: C. Harrison/September 28, 2015/

The Pope’s timely visit to America was heavenly, he is humble, quiet and sincere. His visit was an injection that one could call God sent, it was time to wake up America as to who God is and who is really in charge of on Earth. We could learn much from this humble man. The last thing he ask us to do is pray for him and I am sure most of us did. I am grateful also that he woke-up Congress, regarding treatments of the poor and the environment, he was stern with them and that was a big plus for us. 1443428187440His visit also touch the heart of some namely John Boehner, Speaker of the House, who up and quit his job as speakership. He gave some vague statement has to why he did it; like saying he was fed-up  with various groups and that, “The bible said beware of faults prophets and keep in mind and have courage to do what you can do,” he said for our country. The question is, is  this really an answer to why Boehner is quitting,?

I don’t think so.  An heavenly touch maybe. You see men like Boehner, never quit job like these for these types of reasons–Remember a few years back when the Republicans stalled in signing off on  another Gov. shutdown, when he finally came around what did he do; he sang “Whoopie dee doo da, whooopie dee yay plenty of sunshine is coming my way,” of which I must tell you that I laugh my head off. Could Boehner, have been signaling then his next move or he just decided that this year’s Republican crop/field of candidate is not good enough to work for and choose to hop out now! I choose the ladder.

1443428026461

The Pope blessed America and spoke  alot about what’s wrong with our world and societies and it resonated with the core of some people’s mind.  He was here at the right time saying the right things. As I noted before, hopefully some of us can learn from what he articulated to us and some can go on to even live by his teachings. To say the least he has certainly left his mark on the American soil.
