History repeated itself in Philadelphia July 2016, when Americans choose to nominate a woman, Hillary Radom Clinton, for the President of the United States to lead us into the 2021 century. Many candidates especially Republicans at least 20 plus applied for the job only to fall by the way, beaten out by an obdurate, Donald Trump. The DNC left no stone unturned, the Democratic National Convention was the center piece of the nation’s life for one week. It captured the essence of American politics and showed the most effective way a convention should be implemented & presented. From the first speaker down to the very last one Hillary, it was eloquent.
The speakers that brought out the Moscato D’ Asti’s, for this Journalist, was Michelle Obama, Madeline Albright, Meryl Streep, Jennifer Granold, Cory Booker, newly appointed VP Tim Kaine, Michael Bloomberg, current Vice President Joe Biden, former President, Bill Clinton, President, Barack Obama and Hillary Radom Clinton herself. The theme, “We are greater when we stand together. And I stand with her.”
Accordingly, we listen to speaker after speaker gave their connotations of who Hillary was and is; we saw that she didn’t have such a big issue with trust as most people were led to believe, by Donald Trump and some Republicans. What we saw and the picture painted was instead, of a woman fighting to get in and fighting for people rights, fighting to break that glass ceiling. And yes, when any woman anywhere in the world takes a bold step towards anything she is put through the ringer. If Hillary was a man, I bet you that she would’ve been praised given an award and get patted on her back for what she courageously did. She would’ve been also call a champion for America; but, because she is a woman Donald trump and others see her as just another women any woman even though her husband was a Governor.
Some of us or we, have all worked in Corporate America, and most of us woman have been rattled with, by men and we know that the written rules are that only men break that glass ceiling. What’s the saying (It’s a man’s world), girls are taught this from a very young age and some of us refuse to commit to it, woman like–Hillary, Michelle, Madeline, Harriett Tubman and so many others; strong woman out there now, and those gone before us. We see that the one common denominator everyone that came to the stage sprouted or recited was the fact that “Hillary never gave up.” This tells us something.
Conversely, the speech that Michelle Obama gave was splendid, she threw everything in there, including the fact that it takes a village. Michelle rocked her speech, it was efficient and effective. She said, “We all want a better tomorrow for our children, It’s why I stand with her.”
Sen. Bernie Sander, who unwontedly submitted in the bitter end said, “Hillary will be an outstanding President.”
“Trump is a one man racking man. I know a con when I see one,” proclaimed Bloomberg.
In addition, Hillary’s newly mint Vice President, Tim Kaine, vigorously, after introducing himself and laid out his bio and his plans for the country pellucidly, defended Hillary’s honor, making the case for her Presidency stating, “You can’t believe nothing that comes out of Trump’s month. And journey through Trump’s mind.” Picture that for a minute.
Chelsea noted it best, when she made the case for her mother stating that her mother Hillary Clinton, is her rock and her mother is who she idolize.
Bill Clinton, Hillarys’ husband, held up his wife’s honor in what I called a mosaic and effective speech. It was a speech that took you on a journey to where Hillary began and to where she is now. A journey of work, work, work, and apparently she make things happened. We now know that she was not no body’s pushover, that although her husband did something’s– she disagreed with, she made sure that what she did came through. And we learned that had it not been for her there would’ve been no Children Defense fund. Bill Clinton’s story documented who Hillary was, truly at heart. “She will never quit on you. Hillary is a change maker,” justified Clinton.
This little number by Jennifer Granold, made me laugh out loud where she sang, “Donald you’re so vain you probably think this speech is about you.”
The cement on the cake, came from President Obama, who gave the most potent embellish speech, which he used to engage his captive audience and spellbound us until he was finished. It was nothing short of perfect. It was prudent yet very effective.
Giving you a glimpse of what this Journalist got from him about America is the followings: “America is already great.” “America is already strong.” “And I promise you our strength, our greatness doesn’t depends on Donald Trump.” “America is not a privilege for a few it’s a right for everybody.”
“Hillary has real plans to address the concerns she’s heard from you on the campaign trail. She’s got specific ideas to invest in now such as jobs, to help workers share in their companies profits to help put in preschool and students through college without taking on tons of debt. That’s what a leader do.”
Moreover, the President added, ” We don’t look to be ruled.” “Our power doesn’t come from self declared savior promising that he alone can restore order, as long as we do things his way.” “You know the Donald is not really a plans guy. He’s not really a facts guy either.” Hillary is respected around the world, not just by leaders, but by the people they serve.” “He’ll lose it because he’s selling America short.” “I stand with her,” President Obama said.
Additionally, finishing the convention speeches Hillary took the stage and tell us why we should vote for her. Making the case for herself, she stated: “When any barrier falls in America, it clear’s the way for everybody.” “When there are no ceiling, the sky’s the limit.”
“He Donald Trump spoke for 70 odd minutes and I do mean odd–and he offered zero solutions.” “Imagine Donald Trump in the Oval Office, facing a real crisis. A man you can bait with a tweet, is not a man we can trust with nuclear weapons.” “Now, Donald Trump says, and this is a quote, “I know more about ISIS then the generals do; no Donald, you don’t.”
Hillary said, “I’m not here to repeal the 2nd Amendment. I’m not here to take away your guns. I just don’t want you to be shot by someone who shouldn’t have a gun in the first place.” (And the cherry on top of those well iced speeches), “If fighting for affordable child care and paid family leave is playing the ‘woman care,’ then deal me in!” articulated Hillary.
Thereafter, it was a Convention Party, the likes of which , we have not seen. Well orchestrated and designed.
