THE OFFICER WHO FLIPED THE SCRIPT TO COMEDY

A GLIMPS OF COMEDIAN AARON THOMPSON

New York, NY…According to Aaron Thompson, his first passion was Youth Service, “I worked at daycares and made an impact on the work. I love meeting people,” he said. What Thompson experienced next, was a journey he had to go through for himself because those climaxes were the only ventures that could explain where he ended up in life.

Thompson wanted to become an NBA, ball player but his basketball dreams was washed when he had a talk with one of his teachers.’ “I grew up watching Micheal Jorden and I played in high school.” My teacher, Mr. Farnon, encouraged me to become an English teacher. I love poetry, so I wanted to become an English Literature Teacher; alongside running track in college,” divulged the Comedian straight away.

Thompsons, who is multi-faucet, wears several hats and it was while studying to become a teacher, that the polished comedian was introduced to the idea of becoming a Police Officer. At the time, they were firing teachers and a friend he knew and hangout with wanted him to become a fire fighter. The same friend suggested one day to him that he should become a police officer. To pursue, Thompson, reached out to a police associate coach he knew. This police associate and his son told him (the would-be teacher), that he could do both… becoming an Officer and a Teacher. Thus, he applied thereafter and got hired.

In the interim, harvesting in the backdrop of Thompson’s life was his cherished love for comedy. he always stayed involved with it in one way or another, whatever form in a tiny fashion; but, in real time did not realize that full potential yet. His funny bones would come to life later.

Growing up, Thompson’s life was not easy. He grew up into drugs and his family went homeless. Thus, he developed a mentally, knowing he had a knack for making people laugh. He used it to get where he needed to go. Honing that mentally would see him through much in his life. “Being a police officer never change my goofy side. Who I was five years ago, I realized I am not just doing something, it’s my life. I went for it, doing what I have always love and done best, make people laugh,” conveyed Thompson.

Moreover, Thompson conceded to the fact that the 360 transitioned into comedy was a gradual satisfaction for him. He said that he started out booking venues in correlation to doing his police work; keeping his ears down and focused on getting better until he had to make appearances.

The multi-talented and jack of all trade Thompson, also did consulting for movies and TV shows. He got into doing consulting work when a friend doing a video asked him to do a police officer cameo in the video. It turns out that her assistant consultant was not doing a good job and he filed in, the phenomenon of dejavu recoiled… because he was a record producer, in his younger years, so he fitted right in.

In addition, Thompson’s five and a half year, journey into comedy shaped and made it clearer to him that he was doing so since a youngster. When he was asked why comedy…he noted that he was a student comedian before he knew he was literally one. The straight – talking comedian further revealed that he wants to become a household name, worldwide. “I want to get big so that when I do something on one side of the world, it impacts the other side of the world,” Thompson said.

Inevitably, the comedian’s versatility got him his wings when he was discovered by comedian Luenell, who took him on tour with her. “Being on tour with her was amazing. She is amazing, I learned so much from her. She has been in the Comedy Game, for 30 years. I learned what on and offstage is all about and governing myself; including the business end of comedy,” claimed Thompson.

The comedian ventured and performed in St. Louis, at the Harlem Comedy Club, West Palm Beach…Improv, New York, at Carolines, and did the Rat Williams Tour. He reiterated that he is a storyteller, energetic, is observant and described himself as passionate, caring and full of life.

When asked how does he digress? The standup comedian said, “I compartmentalized myself. I do not take my job and stress home with me. I would turn it off home and use it as a therapy on stage.” Further divulging, Thompson made it clear that he was no longer a police officer, and that he resigned in 2022. Moreover, he pellucidly stated that some of his colleagues supported him and some did not…pointedly, (the father and son duo).

At the Flappers Comedy Club recently, Thompson mentioned that his father is black, and his mother is half white & Spanish. “I am a black man, mixed with White and Spanish. I have a distance relationship with my father and mother …who never knew her father, a Spanish man. My grandmother was White,” confided Thompson.

Culminated, the humble sounding comedian inserted that he would make a name for himself and go on tour for himself. At the time of this publication Thompson, should’ve performed on a cruise. The funny bone promised to startup up a First Responder Comedy Tour, which will correlate with his TV and Movie aspirations.
