Oddly enough, my prospective stepson, who just graduated high school, also handled the Garand in his Air Force ROTC unit, though the ones his high school owned had been &#ec20;2ivilianiz8d” by filling the barrel with lead: what a LOUSY way to treat a fine rifle! Put me on the list for an “operational” Garand, “with full furniture”, if they ever become available.
