The autistic boy with autism Avonte Oquendo 14, years old, who ran from his school building in Long Island City, Queens, was laid to rest Saturday, January 25, 2014/ he vanished Oct 4, 2013. The boy’s body was found 11 miles from his school where he vanished. In spite of a massive search he never turned up anywhere. The search included subways and tunnels.

His funeral service took place at Church of Saint Joseph,  Manhattan; he was presided over by former Roman Catholic archbishop, Cardinal Edward Egan. Hundred,s turned out to pay their respect for the boy and his family.

Before his body was found New Yorkers cling to their chairs whenever  announcements were made as to Avonte’s whereabouts;  people prayed for his safety but it was not to be. He simply vanished and never came home. While the family is sueing the NYPD for more documents, that was not released to the public, police are still looking into what happen to the boy once he left the school building.

I believe someone knows what happened to this child. Someone took this child off the road kill him and dumped him in that river by the school. This is my belief; and that security guard, should answer as to why she took one hour to tell that the boy was missing. We need more protection for our children while they’re at school. I applaud Senator Chuck Schumer for answering that call. He is putting forth legislation for the Government to used a GPS tracking device to fine children with autism, who get lost or taken.
