Honoring The Victims of Gun Violence
New York, NY….A free Mother’s Day concert will be held on Friday May 8, 2015, the theme of which will be —honoring the victims of gun violence. The timing could not have come at a better time according to Senator Sander Jr. office.
Given the rise in shootings in Far Rockaway and across the City, we will aim to convey the message that we need to bring peace back to our communities and care more about the families we are affecting every time a gun is fired.
“Gun violence is a plague in our community,” Senator Sander said. Gun violence has shown that it does not know color, it does not know religion, it does not know age and it does not know rich or poor. We are not only celebrating Mother’s Day, but showing that unity and respect for mothers is the only way to end gun violence.”
The free concert will feature many talented performers such as Cheryl Pepsi Riley, Christopher Williams and DJ Vernon. The co-host will be comedian and entertainer Ray Dejon. A complimentary meal will be provided and more than 1,000 guests are expected to attend.
For those who wanted to attend you must have to pick your ticket up at Senator Sander’s District office at 142-01 Rockaway Boulevard in South Ozone Park or at his satellite office at 1931 Mott Avenue Suite 305 in Far Rockaway
