New York, The all Girls/Co-ED Schools Alumni Penalty kick-off March 21-23rd 2014, Miramar Florida.
The True Blue Weekend is an expansion from the annual Ziadie Cup soccer match between The St. George’s Old Boys Association of Florida, Inc and The Jamaica Old Boys Association of Florida, Inc. The annual match is in memory of Dennis Ziadie, who coached both schools to Manning Cup Victories. This year will mark the 26th year of the death of Ziadie, in a car crash in Mexico at the 1986 World Cup. Last years match drew over 1500 spectators and supporters.

New York, NY, Ray Chew and Vivian Scott Chew have announced that their production company, Chew Entertainment, will celebrate African American History Month at historic Harlem eatery Minton’s located at (206 West 118th Street, New York, NY) “Our Music, Our History” will be a two-day event on Monday, February 24, and Tuesday, February 25, ands will feature two sets each evening at 7:30pm and 10pm.
According to DoubleXXposure Media Relations, former Time Warner CEO and music lover Richard Parsons, along with his business partner Restaurateur/Executive Chef Alexander Smalls are responsible for the rebirth of Minton’s which they renovated and re-opened in October. An incubator for the Modern Jazz era. New York City, NY EDC is reaching out to you to find tech-minded students who would be interested in participating in the upcoming GenTech Student Hackathon, put on by NYCEDC and the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE). The opportunity is for student to learn coding skills, whether they have the background or not.
The hackathon’s theme is code4tomorrow. With the help of the tech sector student will create digital products that aim to make a positive change in their communities. Student with and without coding backgrounds are encouraged to attend-no prior experience is necessary.

New York State Senator Malcolm A. Smith (D-St . Albans) will be distributing care packages to veterans at the Veteran’s Home at St. Albans as part of his annual Send A-Vet-A Valentine program. Items to be handed out will include toiletries donated by event sponsors. It will be an opportunity for the senator to meet with veterans and thank them for their service.

The Internationally known Third World, lost an embodiment of what its band was about. William ‘Bunny Rugs’ Clarke, lead singer of The Reggae Stalwarts, Third World, died Sunday, February 2, 2014 at age 65. He succumbed to Leukemia.
The Island of Jamaica will never forget the pulse of Bunny Rugs, Third World. He will be missed. My full support and condolences to his family and friends. Say a Prayer.

NYC Parks is participating in the 2014 Love Your Block Grant Program, applications are now available.
Love Your Block is an initiative of NYC Service in partnership with Citizens Committee for New York City that provides a unique opportunity for City resident groups to transform and improve their communities through local action while leveraging City services. Grants of up to $1, 000 are awarded for block beautification projects that utilize City service from NYC Parks, NYC Department of Transportation, and the NYC Department of Sanitation. In addition to the cash grant and City service, winning groups receive projects planning and community building assistance, as well as support with local media coverage for the project.
The Love Your Block application deadline is February 20th 2014.
