RISING HIP-HOP STAR AND TREND SETTER JAZI

In Her Fierce Quest To Rise To The Top Of The Hip-Hop Realm She Became Adoptable

Written By Editor: C. Harrison/January 2, 2017/7:37 PM

When I first heard Jazi sing she sounded assertive and pointed an artist who knows what she wants and is using her claim to fame (her voice), as a challenge to anyone who dear question her. When i also heard that she had made history, as the first female rap artist to ever get nominated in Hawaii, I dug in, I wanted to hear more , she sounded intriguing.

On November 15, 2016, i got my chance to do a telephone interview with the hip-hop scarlet. Jazi grew up in an unorthodox environment where season and holidays didn’t bother her. She said, “I didn’t celebrate one faith over the other. Faith was not forth coming.”  Jazi didn’t grew up celebrating Christmas. She has an Indonesian mother and a Caucasian -Jewish father.

Jazi also grew up manifesting a love for singing and a hear for music but her parents lauded something more and starred her towards college. She did go to the University of Hawaii but soon thereafter, she would find what she craved someone else with like mind, the same ambitions and desires for the love of music. Thus, Jazi’s career began at age 19, when she left college and ran off with her current Manager/Producer, Christopher Deshields…. of Trackbaby Records, whom she said taught her everything. “I manifested singing all of my life but it was not until college that I took it seriously,” said Jazi.

When asked about her parents reaction to what she had done, throwing college away for the unknown Jazi stated, “I wanted to pursue my career but my parents wanted something else. They cut me off. Disowned me and that hurt me more than anything. I just kept grinding, which is why I am where I am today. I choose my music career more then anything else even now.”

Accordingly, Jazi was not being evasive about her music, her videos told her stories and why she is destine to make it. Truly innovative, her music videos piece together her short life, inside the Music Industry and spearheaded her needs and where she wants to go…the little girl with the precision voice forceful and intense. One could see why she was nominated for the Na Hoku Hano Award and the reason the Hawaiian Music establishment went after her. Not only was she the only female rapper in Hawaii, jazi carved out a local market  for herself. To assured that young inspiring  Hawaiian girls would in fact follow in her foot steps. It was a bold move and she successfully nailed it. Jazi was born in Port Orchard, WA and moved to Hawaii to attend college.

In Hawaii Jazi also broke records by being the first female rapper to hon major media outlets including: Worldstar hip-hop XXL and Datpiff;  she headlined concert at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center which gained her a place in the Star Advertiser Honolulu Pulse, the Honolulu Weekly, Power 104.3 KPRP 6:50 AM and sponsorship from Papa Johns, Oct 16, giving her more attention and respect than any seasoned Hip-Hop artist.

” I felt excited  about being nominated but I also felt that it was what I had worked for. I just wanted to run around the room. It was what I waited for its an achievement yes, that’s what my movement is Little Big Dream.  In 2014, Jazi made history by becoming the first female artist in Hawaii to be nominated in a hip-hop category.

In addition, defending the fact that she could sing, Jazi explained that she did a lot of singing on her upcoming albums, “The Other One” and her single  “Paper,”  featuring Big Suave. She said that now that she knows the ins and outs of the rap industry, she most definitely can say that she can do this, for the next 30-years.

According to Jazi, her music is an infusion of rap, singing, fashion and theatricals. Her constructive methods are that she  set bars and tell truths within relevant sounding music, feel good, fun and party music. “I am serious about it, that is my motto and I continue to use it,” she stated. As for her slang, she said “it’s a Jazi thing.”

Moreover, the exceptional artist articulated that the name Jazi, symbolizes sexy, calm, cool hard and tough. It also signifies hard working dewamer and she goes for it.  Jazi also means Jazz, she further invoked. “My career is my life,” she said. Her music video “Sexy Is Gangster,” is also the name of one of her album which means the opposite of everything she is in the middle of, she explained.

This Hip-Hop scarlet, also loves theater and fashion, she conceded that she was not sure when she became entwined into them; she just love them she said.  “I am a girl who go shopping, i like to create my own stuff because I can never fine things to fit me.  Fashion is something I am doing right now and as I progress in my successes, i will continue to expand what I am doing right now.”  “My  story changes.  A lot of influences you see today is because of me. I am the major one doing  it, a trend setter. Theater is something I aim to explore later in life,” asserted Jazi.

In cementing her persona, she noted her descriptive self by inserting that,  “Basically, I am going to top, continuing to do what I am doing.  I am always creating the new ideas.  I am never going to run out of ideas. This is how we plan to make it to the pinnacle,” she said.

On spreading her wings Jazi who is an original said that it was the reason why they moved to Los Angeles years ago, right after the awards in Hawaii.  Optimistic about her goals Jazi further contends that she will sacrifice everything…Thus, make dreams to make you happy. She said what her fans should know about her is that without their support and love she wouldn’t be here. “I make music for my friends, fans and all of the above.” “At the end of the day I am a little girl with a big dream. In five years I want my music to be worldwide,” expressed Jazi . She is now  25-years old.

For 2017, Jazi aims to please she will be dropping a film that she has produced calls Jasafeen, schedule to be released later this year.  Her album “The Other One” feathering  some of west coast’s legends,  will be on itune.  And “Paper” her first commercial single was dropped November 24, 2016. Jazi can be found at http://www.jazimusic.com.

“I like good music a nice cold tequila-shot, La Dijon…a French wine, from the Burgundy vineyard. Julep drinks from the Orient, a nice warm beach, susi, lobster, seafood, shoes, hats, and going shopping. I dislike bad music, warm tequila-shots, cold beaches, when people try to play you, when people try to take their anger out on you and I hate when I order food and it’s wrong,” quipped the enchanting young rapper, enthusiastically finishing..

Debbie Fisher was born April 1, 1932 in El Paso, TX and she demised  Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Cedars -Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles at age 84, after suffering from a stroke and the death of her only daughter Carrie Frances Fisher, born Oct 21, 1956 in Beverly Hill, Los Angeles and died December 27,  2016 at age 60, from an acute heart failure coming back from England after a schedule television apparent about her coming back into show biz.

Currie was born when her mother was just 24 years old. She entered show biz at age 19, and history took whole there after. She and her already famous father and mother lived in harmony. Both mother and daughter was inseparable on screen and off screen. Both mother and daughter became two of Hollywood’s iconic giants, they were both sensational and America was in love with them, especially Carrie in the role of Queen, on the monster hit movie “Star Strek.” Both mother and daughter became historic house hold names. Carrie’s father Eddie Fisher, passed on in 1973. They will be missed by many.

The world was in shock at the closeness of the deaths, which came days after another icon’s death George Michael  “She didn’t die of a broken heart,” noted her son Todd Fisher.

Todd Fisher the only one left to carry-on the family’s torch.

I seriously doubt if one could live without the other from the looks of things Hollywood is in mourning.

GEORGE MICHAEL’S UNTIMELY DEATH

HE WAS ONE OF THE BEST OF THE BEST

By: C. Harrison/Dec 28, 2016

When the English group Wham, consisting of Andrew Richly and George Michael,  burst onto the music scene heads turned because the lead singer George Michael, didn’t have your typical white voice, he was not just singing he singed and it sounded like a black American singer. And this landed credence, most knew that this was no ordinary group. They had an edge. The other English bred who sounded black was Rick Ashley, he also had an edge.

When Michael went solo, people literally lauded him black and because of his voice  it stock. Michael’s voice could match any and he went up against the best and stayed there. It was because of this powerful voice that he claimed and accented straight to the top of the pop chart and that’s where he lived with a few other untouchables included: Michael Jackson, Prince, Whitney Houston, the Aretha Franklin, Luther Vandross, Billy Ocean, David Bowie, Madonna and Peabo Bryon.  During the 1980s and 90s they ruled musically; these were among a slue of pop artists that were the biggest in the world at that time.  He will certainly live on through the history books and through the music hall of fame and in the hearts of his fans. Missed already.

George Michael Died Christmas day, December 25, 2016, of heart failure. Some said it was fitting because he had sang about it. Its a song that was meant for someone dear to him personally but is perceived to be for the ages. Michael had 10 number one hits in the United States. He sold 100 million albums worldwide and was in the studios working to re-enter into the industry in 2017.  Some of his biggest acclaims are: “Freedom” “Faith”  “Careless Whispers”  “Father Figure” and ” Last Christmas,” to name a few.

The announcement of his death was chilling in an astute way because many thought that his death would come from  all the run-ins, he have had  over the years.  George Michael’s light shun from 1953 through 2016, he died peacefully in his sleep. He had no illness.

It would seem like the heavens are playing the Aces card again, Prince just died and he returned for another  aces. We will never know what going on in the heavenly realm. He is now in a better place.

CARIBBEAN INDEPENDENT RADIO IN AMERICA WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN

IN MEMORY OF OUR BELOVED

~~ELLEN PATRICIA BAILEY~~

By: C. Harrison/12/24/2016

New York, Queens… Mrs. Ellen Patricia Bailey born October 28, 1939, went to glory Thursday, December 12, 2016 at age 77.  Mrs. Pat scrummed to an ill fated stroked. Her life in-between came to an end and God called her home. Immortalized in stone she will forever be a beacon .

The first thing that stood out and came to my recollection when I heard that Mrs. Pat was no longer with us was their daughter. A daughter that had died many years ago. I remember I was about 17 years old when I heard it,  which touch me deeply because they played a song for her over and over that I am now trying to remember and can’t. From there I learned that everyone in the Caribbean Community new Gil and Pat Bailey and listens to them every Saturday morning. Mrs. Pat and Mr. Bailey was legends even then. Mr. Bailey was known as the godfather of the Caribbean. Caribbean Independent radio program owners revere them and display much love for Mrs. Pat always. I have met Mrs. Pat  a few times and exchanged pleasantries.

As patriarchs of the Caribbean Community in the New York diaspora, Mrs. Pat left a big shoe to fill and like radio personality Janice Julian said–at her funeral, Mrs. Pat was like a school teacher; she taught them how to do radio  promotions, marketing, advertising and much more and she had no formal education. This in itself was an accomplishment and testament to her memory and someone is going to have to pick up where she left off and carry on the baton. Others gave testimony to her courage, strength and caring ways. One person I spoke with said she was the better half, with a smile.  Together Mrs. Pat and Mr. Gil Bailey have 46 years in the broadcast business. They carry the longest running vibrant programs on the independent airwaves. On their radio WPAT, . you can catch them Saturday mornings from 9:30 until 3:00 pm.

Service for Mrs. Pat was held December 22, 2016 at the New Jerusalem Worship Center, located at 122-05 Smith Street, Jamaica, New York. Bishop Mervin Harding, officiated. The repasts took place at the same venue. Her interment was carried out at the Greenfield Cemetery, Uniondale, New York.

Mrs. Pat is survived by her husband Gilbert Bailey, 5 children, 14 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren among hosts of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Pat had a great send off, she will be missed.

THE FORSEEABLE ABYSS WHY AREN’T WE STOPPING IT? HE KNEW

THE AMERICAN DEFAULT “DONALD TRUMP”

By: C. Harrison/December 14, 2016

New York, NY….Elect-President, Donald Trump have stated that we should not blame Russia for the hacking into Hillary Clinton’s campaign, and said that it could be anybody who did it. He furthermore proceeds with his unprecedented picks for his administrative cabinet. Ok, let have a sneak at his motives.

Contrary to the Donald views, Donald Trump knew that Russians were behind the hacking of Hillary Clinton’s emails because according to Loretta Lynch, US Attorney General, the state department intelligence community knew back in 2015, that Russia was hacking. Trump has said it could be anyone doing it or did the hacking. He have also said that he did not need any intelligence briefings. so, inlight of this, we can be clear that someone was giving him information into what was going on prior to 2016. This, gives clout to the reason why he was so cocky and confident about winning.  He clearly stated, “Russia I hope you find those other 30 thousand emails.”  Thus, he definitely knew and actually called the country by name. And if, in fact he was getting details from the Director  of the FBI one year before and a promise was made it could be the reason why the Director of the FBI came out just before the election took place and signal the win for Trump.

If I was wrong in my previous statements and said that the Dir of the FBI James Comey, was put-up to it or push into coming out with the statement that doomed Hillary’s presidential faith just before the election and no one actually summoned or put him up to it, then there should be an inquiry into why he did so.

In addition, what is the real motive for Donald Trump wanting to be President? Is it the fact that it is something he inspired after for a long time or is it because now getting older and own a corporation he sees the big advantage (The broader picture), so now the conspiracy to not only to stay at the panicle of civilization but a chance to possible run the world through corporations who do not, so for answer to any one country. In other words, he’s giving a few corporations the freedom they seek to destroy the world and line or put more money in their pockets: because now, they can cut through the maze of red tapes. Is this where we are as a global society.??? Don’t get me wrong  I am not against corporations, there are still good Coes and good nature friendly corporations out there. The ones who seek definitive power are exceptions to the rules.

Moreover, is Donald Trump trying to destroy America, the country he profess to love? because by appointing only billionaires and millionaires; CEOs who heads corporations when he could have pick and appoint any number of qualify applicants from the general population to run this country, it looks sounds and seems like a plot to further the cause of some Corporations desires for ultimate power and dominance…these few oligarchy will now have the power to run the world through the protection of their perspective companies, no more interference with red tape. Insight is what they needed and now it is handed to them on a platter by an elected President who has his own corporation. ????

Believe me even though Trump said he would conceive and give up his corporation to his children come January for which this is questionable and before the inauguration, it won’t happen and even if it appears to be so…its a faults sense of security to appease the nation because he will be 100% still involve in his companies, you can bank on that.

AND HERE, I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT DID TRUMP DO TO PEOPLE THAT MOST ARE AFRAID OF HIM SO BAD. WHY…there must be something in it. What do they know that we don’t?????? just saying.

Mr. Trump, we don’t hate you! no, you just have to prove us wrong.
