Harrison\/March 11, 2014<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Job Specification<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>The Director of Retail and Economic Development will build relationship with the current and prospective retailers, businesses, property owners and real estate brokers, to improve the quality and mix of retail.\u00a0 Additionally, the Director will also manage projects that assist in the overall economic development of Downtown Jamaica, including the programming and beautification of open spaces.<\/p>\n<p>Build rapport with property owners and their real estate representatives; serve as point of contact between them and prospective tenants.<\/p>\n<p>Maintain database of property owners, retailers, tenants prospects and properties\/available spaces; provide details on characteristics of spaces to prospective tenants.<\/p>\n<p>Contribute to the development of marketing material for Jamaica Center.<\/p>\n<p>Update key demographic figures and information important to retail recruitment.<\/p>\n<p>Work with prospective retailers from initial contact through to store opening.<\/p>\n<p>If applicable, work with existing retailers who may need assistance with issues such as merchandising, window display, marketing, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Run the quarterly Retail Advisory Committee Meetings<\/p>\n<p>Develop quarterly BizSmarts newsletter<\/p>\n<p>Plan two Jamaica Revealed events for 2014<\/p>\n<p>Manage place making and beautification initiatives within the district<\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Qualifications<\/span><\/h5>\n<p>BA required, Master&#8217;s Degree Preferred<\/p>\n<p>Salary Commensurate with Experience<\/p>\n<p>Must have knowledge of business improvement districts,\u00a0 real estate attraction and best economic development practices.<\/p>\n<h5>Direct all questions, cover letters and resumes to Felicia Tunnah at: <a href=\"mailto:ftunnah@jamaicacenter.org\">ftunnah@jamaicacenter.org<\/a><\/h5>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE JAMAICA CENTER BID LOOKING FOR A NEW DIRECTOR OF RETAIL AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT Posted By: C.
