New York, NY… Queens Borough Hall and President Donovan Richards, hosted and showcased for the first time the African diaspora Community of Queens. The Borough honored community residents, members of African descent who have given their all to the borough. These are community helpers, charity workers, medical workers and leaders of the borough, doing fantastic work in their perspective communities of Queens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to BP Richards, “Africa is where it all started, and everyone should try to take that pilgrimage.” T<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Honorees including: Comfort Keah Itoka, Pastor Dr. Abraham Obadare, Toyin Omolola, Pose Ivy Quarshie, Cynthia Charway, and Isarou Jallow. <\/strong>The event was held at the Helen Marshall cultural Center. People from diverse cultures of Africa, were on hand to celebrate their heritage of various African countries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The room full of patrons, well-wishers, dignitaries and media personalities were treated to a sorted dance groups and entertainers, and an array of delicious food. The event was sponsored by DSI International Inc, NYC Commission on human Rights. Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs, and the Mayor’s Office to Prevent Hate Crimes<\/p>\n\n\n\n
